Beef lasagna
Classic beef lasagna with a homemade white sauce - cuts into eight portions and freezes as easy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients
- 500 g beef mince
- 250 g lasagna sheets
- 1 brown onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 800 g crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 60 g butter
- 60 g plain flour
- 750 ml milk
- 150 g tasty cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Method
- Heat the oil in a pot, cook the diced onion for 5 minutes, add the garlic, then brown the mince.
- Add the tomato paste and crushed tomatoes, season, and simmer for 15 minutes until thickened.
- For the white sauce: melt the butter in a saucepan, stir in the flour and cook 1 minute, then whisk in the milk gradually. Stir until thick, then season.
- Preheat the oven to 180C. In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, lasagna sheets and white sauce. Repeat, finishing with white sauce, and top with the grated cheese.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden and the sheets are tender. Rest 10 minutes before cutting.
Good to know: Cuts into 8 portions - refrigerate 3 days or freeze individual squares for easy weeknight dinners.
